Coordinating Pathways to Safety
The coordinator serves as a central figure in supporting the efforts of the VAWCCWE and the various subcommittees.
This role involves facilitating communication, organizing activities, ensuring the implementation of strategic plans, and supporting those involved in the committee’s initiatives.
Connecting the Dots so That You Don’t Have to
Behind the scenes, the coordinator helps bring together people, services, and resources so survivors don’t have to navigate the system alone. Key roles of the coordinator:

To act as the primary point of contact between committee members, community partners, and external agencies, ensuring clear and effective communication across all channels.

In conjunction with the working committee, main committee, and/or executive committee, the coordinator assists in the planning, coordination, and oversight of committee meetings, workshops, training sessions, and special projects, ensuring they align with the committee’s goals and the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS) guidelines and objectives.

Assists in the development and execution of the strategic action plan, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives.

Provides ongoing support to committee members, community partners, and allied agencies, facilitating access to resources, training, and information.

Keeps an updated list of committee members and contacts, monitors the effectiveness of initiatives and reports on progress to the committee, and the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS).

Provides trauma-informed support to victim-survivors through service provider supports, to facilitate the sharing of experiences, and fosters pathways.

Identifies opportunities for new initiatives or improvements to existing processes.

Takes detailed meeting notes and distributes them in a timely fashion after meetings.
