Innovative Measures that Put Survivor Safety First
As part of Through the Hub Without Walls (HWoW) initiative, the Victim Services Coordinator, embedded at Victim Services of Windsor & Essex County, delivers the Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP+).
While housed at Victim Services, this role is intentionally collaborative, working hand-in-hand with a network of service providers across multiple agencies to ensure seamless, survivor-centered support.
Expanding the Reach of VQRP+ with HWoW Funding
The Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) provides immediate, practical supports that prioritize safety and crisis intervention for victims of crime. Through HWoW, our Victim Services Coordinator is able to expand its impact through:
Risk assessments and advocacy to connect survivors with safety supports.
Practical safety items such as lock changes, cell phones, door bars, motion lights, and doorbell systems.
Short-term relief measures including counselling and coverage of urgent needs like food and clothing through gift cards.
Innovative safety technology, such as secure phones and car scanning for trackers.
