Working Committee

Building Alignment, Driving Impact

The working committee actively participates in and contributes to the collaborative efforts and special projects defined by the VAWCCWE’s strategic action plan, and ensures alignment with the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS) mandate.

Our Responsibilities in Action

  • Members attend and actively participate in regular meetings while upholding the Code of Conduct to ensure a professional and inclusive environment.

  • Members respond to VAWCCWE emails in a timely manner, and provide insight and feedback to the best of their ability.

  • Members share information about their organization’s services and their importance in supporting victims/survivors experiencing or at risk of experiencing Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)/Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

  • Members assess tools for analysis of gaps, FAQ and safety plan manuals, etc. They also conduct a yearly review of the orientation toolkit materials.

  • Complete assigned tasks within various projects, as agreed upon with larger working group committee (e.g., preparing briefs, speaking points, data snapshot)

  • Members provide support to victims/survivors sharing their experiences, and fosters pathways to resources via a trauma-informed lens.
